TMJ
TMJ, Temporal Mandibular Joint Syndrome involves the jaw, its muscles and ligaments, and the connections of tissue, nerve, bone and teeth.
Symptoms of TMJ are :
- Clicking
- Headaches
- Teeth grinding
- Jaw aches
- Neck aches
- Facial pain or tingling
- Deep ear itch
- Tingling of the fingertips
- Ringing of the ears
- Locking of the jaw
- A change in bite or how the teeth come together
TMJ treatments often involve mouth guards and splints, sometimes physical therapy, sometimes nerve release. Patients can have a wide number of symptoms for a variety of reasons.
