TMJ

TMJ, Temporal Mandibular Joint Syndrome involves the jaw, its muscles and ligaments, and the connections of tissue, nerve, bone and teeth.

Symptoms of TMJ are :

  • Clicking
  • Headaches
  • Teeth grinding
  • Jaw aches
  • Neck aches
  • Facial pain or tingling
  • Deep ear itch
  • Tingling of the fingertips
  • Ringing of the ears
  • Locking of the jaw
  • A change in bite or how the teeth come together

TMJ treatments often involve mouth guards and splints, sometimes physical therapy, sometimes nerve release. Patients can have a wide number of symptoms for a variety of reasons. Smyrna Smiles Dental Center uses a practical, non-invasive approach to find why and what can be done to alleviate any discomfort or repetitive condition.

Smyrna Smiles works with other medical and dental practitioners when appropriate to help our patients best take care of themselves.
